I read the lyrics in an English textbook in middle school (I don’t think I’d even paid attention to the song before, at that point) and I ended up distracting the class cos I was looking all sad at the book.  So my teacher, very patiently, asked me to read what I was reading to the class.  And we all had a collective “Awwww!” moment.  I always think of that, when I hear this song.
